I watched this press conference earlier on Raptors NBATV. I like what both Marion and Banks had to say, but we'll see how this plays out over the next 30 games. Ultimately this offseason will tell exactly what this trade meant to BC and what vision/plan he has for the Raptors franchise...We'll all be watching...
Bosh on Twitter:
I'm usually a fairly early adopter when it comes to internet trends, but I haven't jumped on the Twitter bandwagon yet. Maybe when I start using my smartphone for more than calls, texting, and the occassional web surfing.
Although, I have had Bosh as a 'friend' on Facebook for a little while now. You can see his same twitter updates there as well - since he usually updates his Facebook status via Twitter. Go to Chris' Dec. 23, 2008 blog entry for his profile links in order to add him on either social networking site: http://www.chris-bosh.com/cont...ory/16/45/
As I mentioned in a previous post about Chris' blogging and tech savvyness (http://www.hoopheadsnorth.com/...ction.html), I love that Bosh fully embraces technology and chooses to use it fully to reach out to his fan base - that is very admirable! It just adds a personal element.
Suns/Amare:
The Terry Porter exit may prove to have been a smart move...The Suns posted two 40 point quarters (1st & 2nd), 81 points at half, and a total 140 points for the game tonight. With that said, I think they will leave their team in tact for the rest of the season with Alvin Gentry at the helm. This was the style of play we have come to expect from the Suns over the past 5 seasons - it was just like Mike D'Antoni was still there running the show (no surprise there really, since Gentry was his assistant)! Because of that, I don't see the Suns moving Amare by Thursday's deadline. Now, tonight's Suns' win was over the lowly Clippers (and they play them again tomorrow in the 2nd of a home-in-home) but if this is any indication of how they will play from here on out - watch out.
I'm thinking they didn't need to trade Raja Bell & Boris Diaw...
