SUCKA FREE 8: Who didn't suck in the NBA last week

kobe pau

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers didn't suck
Last week: 35.5 ppg, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists
What more can I say? 61 points against the Knicks breaking a Madison Square garden record, Kobe help lead the Lakers beat the Cavs to hand them their first home loss and on their six game road trip? Kobe's Lakers are 6-0 on their road trip. If you haven't watched Kobe score 61, you can watch all 61 here.

Pau Gasol of the Los Angeles Lakers didn't suck
Last week: 26 ppg, 13.8rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1 steal, 1.5 blocks
Pau was honored as the Western Conference Play of the week. Pau had two 30point games against the Toronto Raptors and the New York Knicks and he also had doubledigit rebounding numbershis last four games.

Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors didn't suck
Last week: 26 ppg, 7 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 2.5 steals
Jackson had a triple double against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday with 30ppg, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. In the Warriors' game against Utah, he flirted with another one with 20 pts, 10 boards and 8 assists as they beat the Jazz 116-96.

Ramon Sessions of the Milwaukee Bucks didn't suck
Last week: 31.5 ppg, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals
Ramon has no problem filling in for Michael Redd, Sessions dropped 44 pts and12 assists against the Pistons. The Bucks are on the playoff hunt sitting a half a game outside of the eighth spot in the East.

The Los Angeles Lakers didn't suck
Last week: Won 6 in a row
I hate plugging the Lakers here all the time but the Lakers are getting it done. Look at the reasons above withKobe Bryant and Player of the Week, Pau Gasol. They hold 41-9 record and even with the loss of Andrew Bynum, the Lakers have kept it up, going 6-0 on their road trip beating powerhouses like the Cavs at home and the world champ, Boston Celtics.

The Raptors should try and find a way to land Ramon Sessions (he's gonna be a free agent this summer), I've been HUGE on him since I started following him in the final weeks of the season last year.

He's so sick!!

After his 44-12 against DET, his value is gonna be inflated. Plus the fact that he is their only guard now (Bell doesnt count), it'd take alot to get him.

But i'm with you - I am not a fan of Calderon (*cough* overrated!! *cough*) but I'm not sure Sessions would help.

Raps need to blow it up. Bosh + role players. They all have their place on a team, but I think too much is being asked of each individual player right now....

If they could swipe Amare w/o having to give up Bosh, WOW. Now *that* would be front line BC could wet himself over....

I want to point out that Sessions dropped 24 dimes and 20 points on my beloved Bulls last year - As soon as I saw that, I was sold.

For me, the 44 points effort just shows he can score too.

He appears to be the ultimate hybrid guard...what can I say, I wish I had that skill set!

I agree with you that the Raps would be better off at this point to just start over - the likelihood of Bosh staying is probably pretty slim - all things being even.

Colangelo definitely has options...it's a matter of how he decides to play his hand...time will tell - but man oh man, the NBA trades and signings are gonna be so exciting over the next 2 seasons!
