Nate blocks Bosh!

Knicks 127, Raptors 97

This New York Daily News blurb summed it up:

"Toronto's effort and performance were nothing short of disgraceful. The Knicks scored the game's first nine points, went ahead 30-15 and had 42 points in the first quarter. Their lead was 30 in the first half and 75-49 at halftime. In the third quarter, the lead was 38. It made you wonder why the Raptors even bothered to make the trip? The other pertinent question is, what is all the fuss about with Chris Bosh? The Raptors' All-Star power forward will be a free agent in 2010 and is often linked to the best of that class - LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

But Bosh, playing with a sprained right knee, has already shown that he is fragile. Plus, it's hard to call him an elite player when the Raptors are 21-36. Bosh finished with 12 points - on 4-for-13 shooting - and nine rebounds."

On basketball's biggest stage, the Raps stunk it up.

This was by far the ugliest game to date from the Raptors, and the Raptors have had their fair share of ugly games. I gave the Raptors a break in their last game against the Cavs because a) they didn't have Bosh, b) they had new players in their rotation and c) it was Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the Raps had no excuse tonight except that they showed no effort at all against New York.

If you checked in midway in the fourth quarter you would see this. Marcus Banks, Roko Ukic, Jason Kapono, Nathan Jawai and Patrick O'Bryant on the floor for the Raps. That's how bad it was. O'Bryant, Jawai and Banks have scored 92 points combined this season. That's like an average of 0.5 ppg.

The Knicks got up 9-0 from the tip and just ran away with it from there. David Lee got it going early on Chris Bosh as the Knicks were shooting over 70% in the first quarter. The Knicks set a Raptor record in "Most Points scored by an Opponent in a quarter" as they were up 41-22 after the first.

I was like DAMN, this is embarrassing giving up 41 in the first to the Knicks and then this happened:

And the half time score? 75-50 Knicks. Yes, 75 points at the half for the Knicks. The Raps shot 42% and the Knicks 58% and the Knicks killed them with the three ball with 10 threes by the half. And it continued to get uglier, Wilson Chandler was nailing threes, Nate Robinson got whatever shot he wanted and midway through the third, the Raps trailed 91-58. The Raps just stood there and watched the Knicks put them away.

Going into the fourth quarter, it was the chance for the Raptors to put some effort and make some type of run but no, Nate Robinson nailed the Knicks 64th three for the night, then he came down the floor nailed the jumper over the7-footer (I stress 7-footer) Andrea Bargnani and then he came back down the court again dishing it to Wilson Chandler for the dunk.

That was it, the Raptors did not show up at all tonight. It was so bad that Raptors fans are even changing their own forum avatars.

Key Notes:
David Lee had 24 pts, 15 rebounds for his 43rd double double
Nate Robinson was the spark off the bench for the Knicks with 26 pts, 7 assists and 5 rebounds
The Knicks were 17 for 39 from three point land, the Raptors? 5 for 17
Wilson Chandler had 32 points for the Knicks along with 6 threes
Shawn Marion had a decent game with 14 pts and 12 rebounds for the Raptors

JAWAI WATCH: 5:01 of garbage time and 1 rebound
